Expert Commission
The central task of the Expert Commission for Art in Public Space at the bbk berlin Kulturwerk is to review the entries of artists in the artist database and to propose participants for invited competitions. In addition, the members of the commission represent the interests of artists in the district advisory boards for art in public space.
The expert commission also makes an important contribution to the further development and quality assurance of public art practice – both locally and in a broader professional context.
It actively participates in discourses on art in public space, strives to improve competition procedures, and monitors, reviews and discusses international developments in the field of art competitions.
The members of the expert commission are elected at the general meeting of the bbk berlin. During their term of office, these artists are not eligible to apply for competitions that are dealt with by the commission. The expert commission meets at least once a month.
A proven focus and concrete experience in the field of art in public space are prerequisites for participation in the expert commission. Interested parties should contact the Office for Art in Public Space or stand for election directly at the general meeting of bbk berlin.

Christin Kaiser
